The mobile phone is the most important device of the day. It has both merits and demerits. As merits. Firstly, nowadays the mobile phone has become the best source of communication. Using this device we can contact any person in the world within a short time. Secondly, the mobile phone is a great source of information. Today we can get any kind of information by reading newspapers, magazines and books on mobile phones. Thirdly, the mobile phone entertains us in many ways. Now we can watch movies, enjoy music and play games on mobile phones. Fourthly, it gives us camera facilities. Using a mobile phone camera we can take photos and make videos. Fifthly, this unique device is small and portable. We can keep it easily in our pocket or bag and take it anywhere with us. Lastly, the mobile phone also has some other facilities like an alarm, reminder, flashlight, calculator, calendar etc. Though it has a lot of merits, it is not free from its demerits. First, mobile phones may cause a lot of health problems. Excessive use of mobile phones may be hazardous for our eyes, brain and even heart. Second, mobile phones are often used by miscreants to commit organized crime. Third, nowadays many people suffer from loneliness and isolation due to their excessive use of mobile phones. Fourth, the mobile phone is a serious tool for waste of time and money. This is mostly done by teenagers. They play video games and watch movies and songs on their mobile phone. Finally, cyberbullying, street accidents, sleep apnea etc are caused by excessive use of mobile phones. However, it’s all merits and demerits depending on the users and how they use their mobile phones.
