A Bad Company Makes a Man Bad
A wise man had a son. The son had some bad friends. He spent most of the time with them. The father was very sorry for his son. He gave his son much advice to leave the bad company and to give attention to study. But the boy did not follow the advice.
Another day the man said to his son that a man is known by his company and if he mixed with bad boys, people would think him bad, but the advice went in vain.
One day the man bought some ripe mangoes but one of them was rotten. He told his son to eat the ripe mangoes the next day.
The next morning the man asked the boy to eat the mangoes. The boy went to the cupboard and saw that all the mangoes were rotten and he told his father about this. The father said to his son, “You see, my boy! All the mangoes are rotten within a night. But when I bought it, they were quite good. The mangoes came to the touch of a bad mango and turned bad within a short time. I know you’re a good boy, but soon you’ll turn into a bad boy by your bad company. What have you learnt from it ?”
“A bad company makes a man bad”, replied the boy. From that day, the boy did not mix with bad boys.
